IMACS has two main electronics enclosures, which sit with
the instrument
on the Nasmyth platform. The enclosures will be
thermally insulated, and cooled
with an air-to-liquid heat exchanger (shown at the far
left in this image).
The enclosures contain the custom 19" racks with the instrument
control
electronics, as well as commericial 19" racks, like the
Physik Instrumente
(blue-edged) racks show in the left enclosure below.

4/5/02 - The IMACS control chassis are all mounted
on standard drawer slides, to allow
easy access to the components inside.
