MIKE Blue CCD cleaning |
![]() It looked like there was some contamination of the surface of the MIKE_Blue ccd. So, we swabbed the bottom 1/3 of the ccd with ethanol. The contamination on the top 2/3 stands out when viewed at the right angle. We still don't know where the contamination came from, but it hasn't recurred (c2005). ![]() In this photo, we're rinsing the surface of the ccd, while trying not to get ethanol on the wirebonds under the cover at the top of the device. Sort of a delicate operation. ![]() The rinsed part of the device is cleaned up. The 'high-water' mark is visible at the very top of the device next to the ball-bond cover. We didn't attempt to clean to the top edge of the CCD. |
