MIKE Blue CCD cleaning |
It looked like there was some contamination of the surface of the MIKE_Blue ccd. So, we swabbed the bottom 1/3 of the ccd with ethanol. The contamination on the top 2/3 stands out when viewed at the right angle. We still don't know where the contamination came from, but it hasn't recurred (c2005). In this photo, we're rinsing the surface of the ccd, while trying not to get ethanol on the wirebonds under the cover at the top of the device. Sort of a delicate operation. The rinsed part of the device is cleaned up. The 'high-water' mark is visible at the very top of the device next to the ball-bond cover. We didn't attempt to clean to the top edge of the CCD. |
