Version History

v3.1, v3.0
v2.4, v2.3, v2.2, v2.1, v2.0
v1.0

v3.1 (2018-05-24)
  • Modified the "subraster" record of the FITS header to indicate the actual subraster geometry even if the full ('0' padded) frame is saved.
  • SUBRASTR='[x1:x2,y1:y2]'
  • "Trim bias section from loaded FITS files" option on the Preferences/QuickLook pane.
  • This allows to display the bias sections (overscan and biaslines) in the QuickLookTool for FITS files loaded from disk (not for data directly read from the array).

    v3.0.3 (2017-03-31)
  • Changed the permissions of the logfile to read/write all.
  • This allows different observer accounts to append to a pre-existing logfile.
    v3.0.2 (2017-03-03)
  • Changed the file permissions of saved subrasters to read/write all.
  • This allows different observer accounts to overwrite pre-existing subraster definition files.
All accounts write to the same 'Subrasters' directory in /Users/Shared/Library/Applictaion Support/BnC/
    v3.0.1 (2017-03-01)
  • Fixed a bug that triggered the watchdog of the B&C electronics.
  • v3.0 (2017-02-22)
  • Installed the official release version of the new B&C GUI.
  • v3.0-beta-0016 (2016-10-19)
  • Ported the bncgui (X11) to macOS/Cocoa.
  • Open the data path(s) in a Finder window via the File--Show DataFolder menu.
  • Default data path is /Volumes/DATA_DUPONT/BNC/utYYMMD1_D2.
  • M2-GUI:
  • Read the FF-Lamp status and M2-Focus from the M2-GUI running on vinchuca (iMac on TO console). These are written to the FITS header (keywords: FFLAMPS, M2FOCUS).
  • TeleGUI:
  • The Object and Comment edit fields on the B&C-GUI are automatically filled with the values in the ObjectList of the TeleGUI when the SendToTCS button is pressed.
  • The SkyMap displays the position of each exposure onto the SkyMap as a green rectangle the size of the CCD array.

  • v2.4 (2015-06-29)
  • Added a secondary data path.
  • The secondary data path is optional.
The Disk status bar on the GUI indicates now the fuller of the two disks.

    v2.3 (2015-02-10)
  • Implemented the loading of FITS files into the QlTool display.
  • Removed the "TCS/Old" option from the Configuration window.
  • Display a warning if the GUI is started with the telescope offline.
  • Intercept Window Close events from the Window Manager (CXTLib-v4.070).
  • 64-bit executable.

  • v2.2 (2014-06-11)
  • Read the focus and cassegrain rotator from the new TCS.
  • Removed the "G-FOCUS" (gauge), "M-FOCUS" (MACS) and "T-FOCUS" (target) records.
Introduced the new "TELFOCUS" ("%.1f") keyword.
  • Old TCS disabled on the Configuration window.
  • 64-bit compatible

  • v2.1 (2013-04-26)
  • Sounds after shutter closed and exposure done
  • Updated the TCS interface to use either the new (Linux) TCS or the old (DOS/MACS) TCS.
  • Note: Please select ON/new unless there is a problem with the new TCS.

  • Port to MacOS-X (X11).
  • v2.0.1 (2010-04-08)
  • Verify telescope coordinates.
  • v2.0 (2009-11-28)
  • Added B&C hardware control to the GUI.

  • v1.0.2 (2007-11-01)
