Version History
v2.1,
v2.0
v1.5 and older
v2.1.1 (2018-10-18)
- Added the missing site informaton (latitude, longitude, altitude).
- This also fixes the "AIRMASS" and "ST" records in the FITS header.
- The site information was correct upto v2.0.2 but got "lost" in v2.1
(2018-05-25).
v2.1 (2018-05-24)
- Modified the "subraster" record of the FITS header to indicate
the actual subraster geometry even if the full ('0' padded)
frame is saved.
- SUBRASTR='[x1:x2,y1:y2]'
- "Trim bias section from loaded FITS files" option on the
Preferences/QuickLook pane.
- This allows to display the bias sections (overscan and biaslines)
in the QuickLookTool for FITS files loaded from disk
(not for data directly read from the array).
v2.0.2 (2017-05-15)
- Changed the permissions of the logfile to read/write all.
- This allows different observer accounts to append to a pre-existing logfile.
v2.0.1 (2017-03-03)
- Changed the file permissions of saved subrasters to read/write all.
- This allows different observer accounts to overwrite pre-existing
subraster definition files.
- All accounts write to the same 'Subrasters' directory in
/Users/Shared/Library/Applictaion Support/Echelle/
v2.0 (2017-02-28)
- Installed the official release version of the new Echelle GUI.
v2-beta-0039 (2017-01-17)
- Send email when the dewar temperature gets too high.
Gabriel Ferrero reports on 2017-01-14:
... during last two nights I used the new Echelle-GUI all the time.
I couldn't detect any issues. As far as I could see the headers were correct.
v2-beta-0038 (2017-01-09)
- Ported the Echelle (ccdgui, X11) to macOS/Cocoa.
- Added FITS records:
- FFLAMPS : flat field lamps from the M2-GUI.
- M2FOCUS : M2 focus from the M2-GUI.
- DATASEC, TRIMSEC : standard NOAO keywords.
- Changed FITS records: --- please let me know if this creates a problem ---
- SITELONG = -70.70384 (was -70.70387)
- SCALE = 0.259
(was 0.260, see
note A
on the duPont telescope website).
- Removed FITS records: --- please let me know if this creates a problem ---
- APERTURE, FILTER, ASECS, DSECS, VGAUGE, IGAUGE
- These keywords do not have any meaning in the context of the Echelle instrument
and were only in the FITS header because the ccdgui is shared between
multiple instruments.
- Default data path is
/Volumes/DATA_DUPONT/ECHELLE/utYYMMD1_D2.
- Open the data path(s) in a Finder window via the
File--Show DataFolder menu.
- Interaction with the
M2-GUI:
- Read the FF-Lamp status and M2-Focus from the
M2-GUI running on vinchuca (iMac on TO console).
These are written to the FITS header (keywords: FFLAMPS, M2FOCUS).
- Interaction with the
TeleGUI:
- Please offset the M2-focus via the TeleGUI:
- The Object and Comment edit fields on the GUI are
automatically filled with the values in the ObjectList of the
TeleGUI when the SendToTCS button is pressed.
- The SkyMap displays the position of each exposure onto the SkyMap
as a green rectangle the size of the CCD array.
- These features require TeleGUI-v1.8.1 or newer.
